# Okuniew Republic

‘Twenty Years of Hope and Decline’ (2005–2025)

The Republic of Okuniew was established on the ruins of the Great Empire of Rusland as a state based on the ideas of democracy, law and civilisational progress. In contrast to the monarchical and highly centralised Duchy of Ossów, Okuniew chose the path of a republic, liberal and open to international cooperation.

The years 2005–2010 were a period of reconstruction and reform. President Aleksander Wyrzyk strengthened the independence of parliament, opened trade borders and led to the signing of stabilisation agreements concerning the Extraterritorial Region with Ossow. The republic began to be seen as a ‘republic of bridges’ – a country connecting East and West.

The years 2010–2016 saw the beginning of the so-called Golden Decade of Science and Culture. President Maria Sokolnik focused on the development of energy research and civil technologies. The National Institute for Energy Research was established, and the stabilisation of isotopic micro-reactions brought about a technological breakthrough. Okuniev became a symbol of a modern state investing in education, digitisation and culture.

However, after 2017, cracks began to appear in the foundations of the republic. The growing demand for raw materials and the ambition to achieve full energy sovereignty led to increasingly bold actions near the extraterritorial zone. During Tomasz Radwan's presidency, the policy of ‘raw material sovereignty’ began to take on a more confrontational character towards Ossów.

In 2023, open conflict broke out with the Duchy of Ossów, which accused the Republic of illegal mining in the Łysa Góra region. Despite mediation by the Alliance of Nations, fighting broke out, private military companies were deployed, and in 2024, a limited-power tactical nuclear strike was launched. The electromagnetic pulse paralysed the logistics and communications of both sides, changing the nature of the war.

By 2025, the Okuniew Republic was militarily exhausted and internally divided, although it still had a developed infrastructure, educated technical staff and an efficient administrative base. In the chaos of war, a third player emerged – the Rembelia Syndicate – taking advantage of the weakness of both states.

The foundations of the Okuniew Republic in the SKORPION world are based on:

– a command structure based on procedures and information analysis,

– organisational and logistical superiority,

– the use of technology and operational planning,

– political legitimacy and international cooperation.

It is a faction that fights not only with weapons, but also with narrative, documentation, evidence and political influence. Its strength lies in its structure, system and ability to coordinate actions on an operational scale.

The Okuniew Republic's achievements in the conflict so far include:

– building a modern state after the fall of the empire,

– developing energy technologies and infrastructure,

– maintaining its international position for most of the conflict,

– effective economic activities (including the exploitation of precious stones),

– retaining some of its influence despite military losses.

The Okuniew Republic is a side in the conflict for teams that value planning, responsibility, procedures and strategic thinking. It is a faction that may lose tactically but win operationally – if the staff acts effectively.
